Superman Unlimited (2025–Present): Dan Slott's Kryptonite World
What happens when the one thing that can hurt Superman falls from the sky and becomes the most valuable resource on Earth? Dan Slott's answer is one of DC's most fun books.
In the summer of 2025, with a new Superman film on the way, DC launched a third monthly Superman title. Superman Unlimited brought Dan Slott, the writer behind long runs on Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four at Marvel, to his first DC ongoing series, and paired him with Rafael Albuquerque.
We stock a good spread of the early issues and the Jon Kent arc at Siomic Comics, and it's become a favourite with customers who want a Superman book that is big, bright and full of ideas. Here's our guide.

A planet full of Kryptonite
The series opens with an extinction-level asteroid made of Kryptonite showering its fragments across the Earth. Overnight, the one substance that can kill Superman becomes a new natural resource. Governments, corporations and criminals all want it, and some of them want it precisely because it keeps the Man of Steel at arm's length.
That idea gives Slott a lot to play with: a Kryptonite gold rush, a breakaway nation called the Kryptonite Kingdom ruled by the self-styled Kryptonite King, a revitalised Intergang and a Toyman whose machines run on the green rock. Throughout, Superman has to solve problems he can't simply punch.

Superman Unlimited beyond the page
The series was the centrepiece of DC's Summer of Superman, timed to land ahead of James Gunn's Superman film, which opened in July 2025. It isn't an adaptation of the film, but it was written for the wave of new readers the movie brought in, and that makes it an easy entry point.
If you enjoy it, the other two monthly Superman books make good companions: Superman Vol. 6 and Action Comics.
